1. Who we are

This website, tiggaandmax.com, is operated by Tigga Press ("we", "us", "our"), ABN 80872973813, of Suite 17, 89-97 Jones Street, Ultimo NSW 2007, Australia.

We publish children’s colouring, story and activity books. This policy explains what personal information we collect through our website, forms, emails and Adventure Club, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can do about it.

We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at [email protected].

2. Our approach to children

Tigga & Max books are made for children aged 5 to 9, but our website, forms and emails are intended for parents, carers, teachers and other adults.

•     We ask that all forms be completed by a parent or carer using their own email address and contact details.

•     We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child.

•     We do not ask children to create accounts, and we do not send marketing or promotional material or emails to children.

•     Where you choose to tell us about your child (for example, an age range or a birthday for the Adventure Club), we treat that information as sensitive and use it only for the purposes described in this policy.

If you believe a child has given us personal information without a parent’s or carer’s involvement, email us at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.

3. What personal information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

Information you give us directly

•     Your name and email address, when you download a free activity pack, join the Adventure Club, or contact us

•     Your child’s age range and birthday (as supplied exclusively by you, the parent or carer) - used to recommend age-appropriate books and to email you a birthday printable.

•     Anything else you include in a message, review or enquiry to us

We do not sell books directly through this website and do not collect payment details; all transactions take place on Amazon.

Information collected automatically

•     Your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system and approximate location

•     Pages you visited, how you arrived, how long you stayed, and links you clicked

•     Cookie and advertising identifiers (see section 7)

Information from third parties

•     Advertising and analytics data from Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google about how you interacted with our ads

•     Aggregated sales and review data from Amazon’s seller reporting. Amazon does not give us the names, addresses, payment details or email addresses of people who buy our books.

We do not collect sensitive information as defined in the Privacy Act — such as health information, racial or ethnic origin, or religious beliefs — and we ask that you do not send it to us.

4. Why we collect and use it

We use personal information to:

•     Deliver the free downloads, printables and Adventure Club rewards you request

•     Send you emails about new books, printables, offers and Adventure Club news, where you have consented

•     Recommend books suited to your child’s age

•     Answer your questions and provide customer support

•     Measure and improve our website, our advertising and our books

•     Detect and prevent fraud, spam and misuse

•     Meet our legal obligations

We will not use your information for a purpose unrelated to the one you gave it for, unless you’d reasonably expect it or you’ve agreed.

5. Marketing emails and your consent

We only send marketing communications if you have explicitly opted in. If you download a free resource without opting in, we will only email you the resource itself and essential delivery details—never promotional content.

Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link that we action promptly, and you can also request removal at any time by emailing [email protected].

We comply with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).

6. Who we share it with

We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only with the services we use to run the business, and only as needed:

Service | What it does | Where

Power4Marketing Platform | Website hosting, lead generation forms, customer database and automated marketing delivery | Overseas Cloud Servers (principally United States)

Meta Platforms | Advertising and measurement | United States

Google | Analytics and advertising | United States

Geniuslink | Routes our Amazon links to the Amazon store for your country | United States

We may also disclose personal information where required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights and safety of any person.

Overseas disclosure. Several of these providers store and process data outside Australia, principally in the United States. By using our website and submitting your details, you consent to this disclosure. We take reasonable steps to use reputable providers with appropriate data protection commitments, but overseas recipients may not be subject to laws equivalent to the Australian Privacy Principles.

7. Cookies, pixels and advertising

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, remember your preferences, measure traffic and deliver relevant advertising.

We use:

•     Essential cookies — required for the site and forms to function

•     Analytics cookies — Google Analytics, to understand how the site is used

•     Advertising cookies and pixels — the Meta Pixel and Google tags, which let us measure our ads and show them to people who have visited our site

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may stop working properly. You can also manage ad personalisation directly in your Meta ad preferences and Google ad settings.

8. Amazon links

All of our books are sold through Amazon. We take no payments on this website. When you click a "Buy on Amazon" link you leave our site, and from that point Amazon’s own privacy policy and terms apply to everything you do. We don’t receive your name, address, email or payment details from Amazon.

Our links use Geniuslink, which detects your country and sends you to your local Amazon store. To do this it reads your IP address and browser details.

9. How we store and protect it

Your information is stored in our providers’ systems, protected by access controls, encryption in transit and password protection. Access is limited to those who need it to do their job.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, we can’t guarantee absolute security.

If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

10. How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it:

•     Marketing contacts — until you unsubscribe, then a suppression record so we don’t contact you again

•     Enquiries — up to 2 years after your last contact with us

•     Business and tax records — 7 years, where Australian tax law requires it

•     Analytics data — in line with our providers’ standard retention periods

After that we delete it or permanently de-identify it.

11. Accessing, correcting or deleting your information

You can ask us to:

•     Give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you

•     Correct anything that’s wrong or out of date

•     Delete your information, where we’re not required to keep it

•     Stop sending you marketing or promotional emails

•     Where a deletion request is made, we may retain a minimal suppression record containing your email address to ensure you are permanently excluded from future marketing database additions and communications.

Email [email protected] and we’ll respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first. There’s no charge, though we may charge a reasonable fee for large or repeated requests.

12. Complaints

If you think we’ve mishandled your personal information, email [email protected] with the details. We’ll acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days and aim to resolve it within 30 days.

If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner:

•     Website: oaic.gov.au

•     Phone: 1300 363 992

•     Post: GPO Box 5218, Sydney NSW 2001

13. If you’re outside Australia

Our books are sold on Amazon stores around the world, and anyone may download our free resources, so we may hold information about people outside Australia. Wherever you are, we handle your information in line with this policy and Australian privacy law, plus the following.

United Kingdom and European Economic Area. If you’re in the UK or EEA, you have additional rights under the UK GDPR and EEA GDPR, including rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. Our legal bases for processing are your consent (marketing, non-essential cookies, and sending you the free resources you request) and our legitimate interests (improving our website, books and advertising). By submitting your data, you acknowledge it may be transferred to and stored on secure cloud servers outside the UK/EEA (such as in the United States). You may complain to your local data protection authority.

United States. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe your child under 13 has given us personal information, email [email protected] so we can investigate and delete it.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on our website; with the date it was last updated at the top. If we make a significant change to how we handle your information, we’ll tell you by email or a notice on the website.
